    We had our first IOLA Block Party of the year! We did a Night at the Movies and showed A Bug's Life, creating a space for families to have a fun, safe time together.

    While in a parking lot a young man asked to clean my tire rims for change. I agreed and put money in the cup. He worked hard for 15 minutes. When he was done I asked if I could go through the drive through and buy him lunch. He declined, said he needed the money for his two children. I gave him the money and a love share card. I tried to witness to him and ask if he knew Jesus but he spoke little English. I have got to learn enough Spanish to be able to share. He ended our time with God bless you. I pray he does know Jesus as Lord.

    I had to go to a church in Pomona on business. Knowing that I might see some unhoused individuals, I took four care bags I made up and some blankets.

    As I exited Garey Avenue, there was an unhoused man standing at the corner. I asked him if he needed a blanket and some food and he said yes, so I gave him one of the blankets and the care bag.

    On arriving at the church, which rents out rooms to an organization for homeless services and low income families, a woman, Vanessa, was there seeking help but the office was closed. I stopped to talk to her and she shared several things including the fact that she lost her food stamps card, she needed to go to Tri-City mental health for her medication and she needed to find her belongings which someone took and she knew where the person was.

    We walked across the street to a hamburger place and I purchased a meal for her and some drinks then we walked back to my car which was parked at the church. On leaving the church parking lot I saw another unhoused man, James, and asked if he needed a blanket and gave him one and a care bag. I told him his name James is in the Bible and if he knew our Lord. He said he did and I encouraged him to pray and to have hope.

    I drove Vanessa about a half mile to the mental health office and walked in with her while she got her medication.

    I then drove her about 3 mi to meet the person who had her belongings. I gave him a care bag, put her stuff in my trunk and then I drove her back to where she had her other belongings about three miles away. I gave her the final care bag, prayed with her, encouraged her and she asked for a hug which I gave her a long one. I told her I will check in on her from time to time.

    I teach at a community college. Before class started today a student came up to me dressed nice with a new haircut. He let me know he had an interview later and would need to leave a few minutes early. I told him praying for people is what I do, and I just put my hand out towards him and began praying out loud for God's favor on his interview. He thanked me. I could tell from his expression that it was a blessing to him, but it was also a testimony to the rest of the class about where I put my faith.

    I shared Sunday afternoon with a niece who lost her spouse and was left with two young boys. Took them to have pizza. Shared time with my niece, gave her encouragement. Talked about how Jesus comforts and is always open to hear her requests. We prayed together and hugged. Told her we are there to support her. There was peace in those moments.

    Got a call from an old Landmark member's mother & brother to do plumbing repairs at their home for her mother & brother Did not find it necessary to bill for the work completed, but was great to reconnect, which resulted in her joining online for the following Sunday service.

    On Saturday afternoon we prepared care bags, loaded up The blankets and gloves that are church members donated and drove to Pomona. We were able to distribute these to 12 unhoused people. Those without blankets were especially grateful given the cold weather. We also distributed the beanies made by our needlers. We interacted with them and were able to pray a blessing over them.

    I found out that a person I know had been injured in an accident. I reached out to them to encourage them and let them know I would add them to my prayer list and continue to follow up.

    I shared with a family I work with to meet their sons’ needs as students with autism. I just shared about how diverse our church is and how they would feel welcome and I invited them to visit and it turns out they are looking for a church that would welcome their sons.

    Leaving the movie theater, a few young adults walked by and at that moment, a young man dropped his newly purchased milkshake. Although they laughed, he was sad. We gave him money to buy another. He said, “Thank you so much! I’ve had a really bad day!”

    Paid for an elderly woman’s lunch. I see her eating alone often peering through her matted hair at everyone walking by. I imagine the loneliness and maybe feeling like no one sees her. Honored to love on her!

    I have been very busy with work and school and things due, but a former co-worker called to ask if I would go for a walk with her at the park to talk. I really did not have much time, but went and she has so many troubles in her life. I was glad I could be there for her. We talked and I prayed for her. I felt so happy that I could offer her a little comfort. I was definitely glad I took the time. It was such a simple thing to do.

    There was a homeless man that I saw outside of the dollar tree store. I said hello and he asked for some change. I told him that I would when I come out the store, I also asked if there was anything I could get him inside the store. He was surprised and then he said how about a snickers bar. I got him two bags of the small snickers and gave him a dollar and the church card.

    As I was leaving the gym today, the coach was on the phone with her doctors office because she has a blood clot. I waved bye but she grabbed my hand and held on. I held her hand and prayed for her while she continued the phone call with the doctors office. After a few minutes she released my hand and thanked me for being with her.

    I extended a "hello" from a cashier today, replying "hello, how are you?" Many customers are rude, even not saying anything. We're all human, we all need dialogue once in a while.

    Today's crazy windstorm left many trash cans blown over after the garbage man came. The people across the street are elderly and I brought in their cans.

    Today while at the bank, I heard a woman talking with the banker. She was unable to view her account due to the fact that she did not have her ID. She explained it was because she had had her belongings and tent taken by the city and stored. She was unable to get the ID out of storage at the time. After withdrawing what I needed, I saw her sitting outside. I asked her if I could bless her and after she said yes, I gave her some money. I also prayed for her.

    A neighbor near us waved as we were going by. We waved back then realized that she needed help getting from her driveway into her home. She had been dropped off by an Uber driver and could not get her wheelchair up the walkway. We stopped and pushed her and her groceries up and into her apartment. We told her that God must have sent us just at the right time to help her. We gave her our phone number and told her to call if she needed anything.

    After the Rooted Kickoff I stopped at King Taco. A Man named Dago came up to me asking for a quarter, I checked my car and no luck. I told him i didn't have one but if he needed anything else, he asked me for a burrito & drink. I went inside to purchase then came back out to briefly talk with him. I asked him if there was anything else he needed and said he was homeless and he could use a blanket. So I sourced a local target and went to buy him a blanket. I prayed for him & told him about our love share campaign at church, he said he believed in God and prays here and there. I prayed for him, made a new friend and went on my way. God is Good!

    I just washed my 90 year old dads feet and told him the story about Jesus washing feet and how that act is one way He taught us about servanthood. Then… I gave Pop a love share card and read a bunch of the love shares to him.

    I was meeting with a person at work. She shared that she had recently been feeling anxious and it was impacting her job. We stopped our meeting and talked about the issues she was dealing with. I offered to pray with her and let her know that I would continue to pray for her and her situation.

    Was standing in line to buy a slice of pizza. When I noticed the man in front of me struggling to order and just all the details. As he finished paying he turned back and told the cashier he forgot about the ranch. Cashier told him it would be .75 cents extra. I looked at him and said I’d pay for it. The man was thrown aback and stared at me with a very confused face. I told him that I hate when that happens and that I didn’t mind at all. He then said ok thank you and I said, “ no worries”. I should have said Jesus loves you or given him a love shared but I forgot. I pray for that man it seems like he had his kids with him and was overwhelmed.

    I spent my Friday morning with my neighbor and her two little once’s while her husband was away at work. We played at the mall. Went with them to the dentist for her kids and just helped her with whatever she needed.

    After serving at a fund raise event that had some food left over, an un-housed woman was in a wheelchair in the parking lot. My wife and I were able to provide her food and water and some encouraging words.

    My neighbor is struggling with some health issues so I have been inviting her to walk with me. Then I just let her talk and talk. Here and there I share a little bit of God. She is thankful for the walk and for what I do share. She also said her Doctor is really happy she is going for walks.

    My electrician called to see if my mom’s house was for rent. I said unfortunately not but you are welcome to stay in my RV. I stopped and asked, “what is going on?”. He shared his marriage struggles and I listened and shared my testimony with him. He spoke of new age beliefs but I told him my personal experience of when God delivered me from my darkest time. At the end he was thankful that I shared and I told him I would pray for his marriage.

    On my morning walk today I noticed my elderly neighbor's trash cans were still in the street. Trash day was 2 days ago so I rolled her trash cans up to her garage door for her.

    I was having a business/catch up conversation with an old colleague of mine who I once put on my list of people to bring to Christ. As we’re talking, he asks about my faith and how I incorporate it into work and I took it as an opportunity to share how my faith and God’s love have helped further my career and relationships with others. Every time we talk, I see how much closer he is to receiving Christ, but he hasn’t made the leap yet. He’s about to have a baby from an unplanned pregnancy. I’ll continue to pray that fatherhood and this last conversation give him that last nudge.

    We were grocery shopping at Walmart in Cerritos on Sunday, 1/15/2023 and as we were lining up to pay at the cashier, there was an older lady maybe in her mid 70’s in front of us who was taking a long time to pay asking the cashier to separate every two items (laundry detergent, softener, bathroom tissue, a pack each of candies, biscuits and chocolates) and tried to figure out which ones to pay first. She finally pulled out her EBT card from her wallet to pay for the chocolates and biscuits but the cashier informed her that her EBT card had only $2.54 balance. As soon as we realized that she cannot pay for all her groceries, we went closer to her to let her know we will take care of all her groceries. We immediately informed the cashier that we will pay for it. The lady was almost teary-eyed hugging and thanking us. We said to her that we are doing it for Jesus and that Jesus loves her. She replied amen and amen. She said to us “God is so good and Jesus is amazing”. Amen indeed!

    I went to five guys today, and I walked up to a young man and asked him how was his day going and as we talked, I asked him was he a believer and he said not really. He only pray when he needed something. I told him that God loves him, and I pray that he knows that God wants to have a relationship with him deeper than just when he needs something. And he said OK. Just remember God loves you.

    I was building a handicap ramp for a customer and had to move his car parked in the driveway. When I got into the driver's seat I noticed that the car was flooded inside from the heavy rain. I went and got my shop vacuum, cleared the water, and opened the doors to help dry it out.

    As I was coming home tonight I saw a man digging into neighborhood trash cans. I drove home one street away, grabbed some food and a water bottle and drove back to where he was and offered them to him. He said "thank you" and I told him God loves him as we parted ways.

    As I was entering Walmart on a drizzly day, there was Jimmy. He was in a wheelchair with only a sweatshirt and what looked like his sole possessions stuffed into a reusable Walmart bag. I gave him a coat and a care bag from Landmark Church. He tried to hand me a couple of dollars and asked if I would buy him a soda. I went inside, bought him the soda, a backpack, some gift cards and was blessed when he allowed me to prayed for him.

    As a senior it is not always easy to get out into the community. I heard about someone in our church who was dealing with a severe medical issue. I knitted him a blanket and gave a card to show him how much he was loved by our church. I hope this gift helps him see that our church is thinking about him.

    My heart sank when I realized that a mom and her baby would be sitting next to me on a 15 hour flight. I decided to be a help instead of a hindrance, so that the mom could rest, stretch her legs, eat, and use the restroom. Best ( and seemingly fastest) flight ever!

    Once a month, Bob and I cook a hot meal for the residents at the homeless shelter in Pomona. The funds are provided through our Pomona Host Lions Club. Bob purchases the food items and we cook the food and deliver it to the shelter. We used to serve the residents, along with other members of our club, but due to COVID restrictions we are not allowed to do so anymore.

    Was having a conversation with my team about movies when the upcoming Jesus Revolution movie came up. We discussed how many people it will reach. How great the word is getting out. A few shared about their plans to see it and share it with others.

    Being this conversation took place at work, it was great to see open discussion about the love of Christ.

    One way we share our love is by taking steps to reconcile with others when we cause them harm.

    We had cleared off the driveway, set aside our plans for the day and were waiting for the Solar installers to arrive. Waiting and waiting . . . nothing. So I called to be told “were checking”. When I finally got a call back from our customer rep. I was informed that they weren’t coming that day. I let my disappointment (this is after a series of failure to communicate on their part) get the best of me. I said things I later regretted.

    Being prompted by the Holy Spirit, I reached out to this rep. and made a sincere apology. I told him, “Suffice it to say that I am ashamed of myself. James says in the New Testament that "the wrath of man does not accomplish the righteousness of God". I know this but acted in a way contrary to my beliefs and I regret it. I have asked for Jesus' forgiveness and know that I have it. I would ask for yours and hope that you could forgive me. I truly am sorry for how I spoke to you and treated you.”

    In his reply the rep. said “Very few would go as far as you in apologizing, and that is a Christian witness I truly appreciate.”

    I went to the Shell gas station. As I got out of my car and was heading in to the store to pay for the gas an unhoused man approached me and asked if I would buy him some coffee. I said yes and he could also get something to eat and encouraged him to come inside with me. We went into the store and he got some coffee and asked if he could also get a pack of cigarettes. I said sure and encouraged him several times to get something to eat and a bottle of water but he only wanted coffee and cigarettes. I paid for the items and my gas and headed back to my car. I saw him outside and asked him if he needed a blanket, which I had in my car He said he wanted to see what it looked like first and I teased him about that. I showed him a brand new blanket that was wrapped up and he said he would take it and he thanked me profusely. God is good!

    A young woman was sitting outside of Target with a grocery cart that looked like all her worldly possessions were in it. It was a cold evening and she was huddled in a comforter. I gave her a care bag from church and asked if I could get her anything from inside the store. She asked for a candy bar but I offered to get her a sandwich, chips and something to drink. When I came out, her partner was with her, so I gave him the other care bag that I had. I listened to their story and they allowed me to pray with them. As I prayed, they bowed their heads and held hands. I was touched by their respect. As I handed them some cash so they could both eat something, I told them that "I just wanted to share God's love with you today!". They both smiled and expressed their gratefulness for our meetings and for having what they had...each other.

    I have lived in my neighborhood for about 10 years. Every time I encountered my neighbor while walking in front of her house, she would look down and walk on the other side of the street. One day, she didn't see me on time to avoid me, so I smiled and said "Hi! I live two houses down from you! How long have you lived here?" She talked with me for a quite a bit and we exchanged phone numbers. Well, ever since that day, she texts me regularly and last week, she came to church with me!

    Our neighbor passed away and we shared dinner with his family. We have invited them over before and they have always declined but instead of wanting us to just bring them dinner, they wanted to come over. We shared stories of our memories of Richard (the husband/dad/son in law)and how their family had cared for us when our daughter passed. It was a real bonding time with the family.

    A women with 2 children came into the restaurant asking people for money. I initially said no.. but the HS convicted me and I returned to her and asked her what she needed. She said that they were hungry, so I paid for their lunch. So glad I didn't continue to ignore the prompting from the HS.

    On February 13 I took 2 meals over for some friends. Her husband just completed all his radiation treatments and there were no cancer cells. They love God!

    This morning I saw there is tree trimming going in our community and a car parked right under a tree that needs to be trimmed. The man was walking around that car probably try to figure out what to do, and I happen to know that car's owner. But if I stop and go find the owner, I would be late for work. However, I still decided to run to the owner's house to ask her remove her car, she and the trim team both appreciated me. I am very happy I decided to stop and help.

    I was being shuttled home from the Chevy dealership yesterday and I struck up a conversation with the driver. She told me a little about herself and then she shared that her husband had had Covid, and was now disabled because of it, having to go to dialysis 3 times a week.

    I told her about my online bible study and asked her husband's name so we could pray for him.

    It’s my birthday today and I’d like to bring cheer to a special friend & her son who are still grieving for the lost of a loved one. So I bought lunch for them as a reminder that God is good & faithful no matter what. It’s also one way of encouraging them to come back to church and just feel loved around other Christian brothers & sisters. I feel blessed too!

    Gave a gift card to the couple in line behind me in a store to pay for their items. They were very thankful but the best was that the cashier’s reaction. She was so surprised and said she couldn’t believe it and her day got better to see kindness still at work in the world.

    I called my friend who has medical problems, and so does her husband. They haven't been able to come to church. She was so thankful I called and was praying for her. We talked for about an hour. What a blessing she is.

    My cousin found out she has breast cancer and will be going having a mastectomy soon. I have been calling her mom and telling her that I am lifting up the whole family in prayer. She is so thankful for my prayers.

    One of our clients is struggling with some Christian ideals and I gave their therapist some information from my experience here at church and offered her to come talk to me any time because I would love to share more about how my faith impacts my work.   • 2/5/2023 I went through the drive through at Del Taco after church. As I came around to collect my food, I noticed a homeless woman on the sidewalk across the street sitting on a blanket. After I got my food, I made a U-turn and pulled up next to her and asked her if she was hungry. She said she was and wanted a cheeseburger, fries and drink. I drove back around to the Del Taco order intercom box and placed her order. I collected the food and delivered it to her. I asked her if she wanted me to pray for her. She declined my offer to pray together but I prayed for her on my own.

    Bought the meal of a young man. He started to cry and profusely thank me. God moved me to pray with him after. After we hugged he said, “I’ve encounter so many Christians who judged me. I’m glad I met a real follower today.”

Then I drove into a takeout to get my lunch and bought a second lunch hoping he would still be there.     I stopped to give a homeless man a blanket I had with me when I saw him in the cold without anything on his legs. I told him God loves him. I noticed his legs and hands were covered in blood, and he begged me not to call an ambulance. He had been digging into wounds on his legs. After leaving, I decided to call an ambulance. Sometimes love is giving someone what they need, not what they want.

    This past week I was at a gas station putting gas in my car. Standing there I was looking toward the street when I noticed a man on a bicycle heading toward me. He looked disheveled and dirty. When he approached me he had a gas can on his bicycle. He asked if I could buy some gas for him. I told him I would fill his can as soon as my car filled. He placed the can by the pump. When the pump turned off after filling my car I pumped gas in his can. I asked him if his car was nearby. He said no, the gas was not for a car. He said his family was living in an old motor home and the gas was for the generator so he could turn on the heat for a while. It was really cold that day. I immediately felt terrible for my thoughts of judgment as he approached me. Thank God for giving me the opportunity to bless this man and his family. May God bless this man and his family.

I am tall enough that I could reach it for them. I got down the two boxes they wanted, put them in their cart and sent them on their way. They were very grateful as they headed for the checkout.

    Was on my way to work and stopped at a convenience store. Noticed a person experiencing homelessness outside in the cold huddled up. I purchased him coffee and other items to help him through the day. The person in front of me in the store noticed what I was doing as he was leaving, he stopped got out of his car, and came over and financially blessed the person experiencing homelessness. A true love share!

    I was on the phone yesterday speaking with a representative from a debt cancelation company and she was very helpful and professional with me. The conversation that we had some how turned into a spiritual conversation about God. The representative asked me if I had any advice to give her because she had a desire to be married one day, and she mentioned that she was having a challenging time finding a husband as a single mother. I encouraged her by letting her know of the importance of placing God first in her life and when she fully devotes her life to the Lord, the Lord will send her the right husband. I continued to encourage her through the Word of God and before we ended the call she thanked me for taking the time to minister to her and sharing the goodness of God. I'm thankful to God for using me as a vessel to reach people for Christ. We are the light of the world and the salt of the earth and whenever we have an opportunity to share a word of God with someone, we should always be ready, willing, and available to share a word of encouragement and hope to those who are in need. God is good!!!

    It was windy and raining hard. We were at our tax appointment. As we were finishing up, I noticed an elderly lady walking in. She did not have an umbrella and was soaking wet. She was dropping something off. We were all walking out and I asked if I could walk her to her car so I can cover her with my umbrella. She was very happy and grateful.

    Landmark church members prepared 31 Gift boxes for children in Mexico and our mission’s team visited two locations to distribute these boxes. First stop was the Christian Church in Zaragoza, a small village in Baja. In additions to distributing the gifts to the children, we shared the creations story and did a craft with the children. We also had prayer for and with the woman pastor, Pastor Angeles.

    Our second stop was at Casa Hogar Monte Horeb, a Christian foster home for older boys. Here we distributed gift boxes to 7 boys. Before the trip, the couple that has run this home for over 20 years had shared with us that they were tired, their bodies were falling apart, and they were taking a break from this ministry. But when we go there it was obvious that they were really rebuilding from their break and continuing the ministry. We were able to encourage them with a Certificate of Appreciation and a monetary gift.

    At Ninos de Baja, a Christian orphanage in Baja Mexico that our church helps support, our mission team was able to visit and minister to the 45 children there. We shared with them the love of Jesus through crafts, conversations, and play.

    Walked into the grocery store and heard the cashier saying “you don’t have enough to pay for your three items”. The person said the would put something back. Cashier said loud enough for those in line to hear- you are the third ring up I have had to cancel today. I walked up and offered to pay, then noticed it was someone from church. I paid for the items and the cashier now had a smile on her face. The person I paid for said “he is from my church, we take care of each other”. They then shared some medical news with me and we prayed in front of the store for their situation.

    A man came in to a Norm's restaurant in Torrance and sat at the counter. He was known by the staff. He was very clean and presentable. He said he only had $5 and started asking prices of things. He finally settled on an order of fries only. I told the waiter to charge the fries to my bill. About 10 minutes later the man asked me if I was Christian, I said yes. Turned out he attended Hope Chapel in Hermosa Beach. I am a big believer in the meeting of spirits even before any words are spoken, good and bad, as in spiritual warfare. We spoke a little on the state of the world, and how it was prophecy being fulfilled once more . I helped a brother in Christ who was pinched for cash at the moment!

    Around 10:15 am that morning, I took some items to drop off at the Goodwill store in Diamond Bar. When I are there, I noticed a couple standing by their Tesla, looking upset. I smiled at them as I went in to drop off my items. Then the couple approached me, hesitated, and then asked me if I lived in Diamond Bar. I responded in the affirmative. And then they told me that they were in a hurry to drop off their items. So they both left their phones, purse, and wallet in the car. The extra set of keys were at home. They offered to pay me to drive one of them home to get the keys. I told them that I would be happy to help them out and they didn’t have to pay me for it. So I drive the wife home. She had another car in the garage. So she drove that car back to the store with the extra set of keys. She was so thankful and still wanted to pay me for helping out. So , I shared with her that I had planned to go to the Goodwill earlier that morning, but something came up and I was delayed. I shared with her that it must have a God appointment for me to be there at that time to be of assistance to them in their time of crisis. She agreed with me and thanked God for helping them that day. So I gave the Lord much praise for using me to help them on that morning.
